South West Water taken to court over cryptosporidium outbreak in Devon | Devon

South -West water is taken into court via a parasite that infects water source to some parts of Devon last summer and leaves dozens of patients.

More than 140 people, causing stomach pains and vomiting, typically for about two weeks of diarrhea -type disease was confirmed. Four people were taken to hospital.

Approximately 16,000 households in the Brixham area and the enterprise were told by the water company that they would not use tap water before boiling.

South West Water’s spokesman said: iz We will think about these calls. South West Water has cooperated with the drinking water inspectorate since the beginning of this incident to assist its investigations.

“We take this event extremely seriously and we will continue to participate in response to these legal procedures. Meanwhile, it focuses on providing clean safe drinking water to our 2 million customers on Cornwall, Devon and Sillaly Islands.”
