Darts World Champion Luke Littler, 18, splashes out on £1m dream home… and ‘he’ll give it to his mum and dad’

Luke Littler is investing his World Darts Championship winnings into his first home – a £1million luxury mansion in the town where he grew up.

The teenage sensation is on the property ladder after purchasing a spacious five-bedroom property on the outskirts of Warrington, Cheshire, understood to be for her mum and dad.

Estate agents describe his new corner plot home as a ‘stunning large family home’ with high-end features including a hot tub, solar panels and a large open-plan kitchen designed for entertaining.

Littler, 18, nicknamed ‘Nuke’, was renting a £6,000-a-month private property nearby with his mother Lisa, 42, and taxi driver father Anthony Buckley, 45, following his meteoric rise in the sport.

Now, following his £1million payday at Alexandra Palace last week, the world No.1 has taken the next step by buying a house outright.

Last night a source close to Littler said it was understood he wanted the property to be his parents’ ‘forever home’.

‘Luke is a young man. He bought the place and lives there with his mother and father, but he hopes that in time they will spread their wings and stay there.

‘It’s not a bad Christmas present for them, but it’s what they deserve, having done everything to help them get to where they are today.’

The purchase marks a dramatic upgrade from the family’s previous £180,000 two-bedroom semi-detached house in the town and underlines how quickly Littler’s life has changed since bursting onto the darts scene at the age of 16.

The impressive property features landscaped gardens as well as five bathrooms – one for each bedroom, a double garage and driveway space for several vehicles.

The lavish master bedroom features a separate dressing room, vaulted ceiling and Juliette balcony overlooking the backyard.

The house last changed hands for £710,000 in January 2021 and was marketed for close to £1 million last year.

While the exact amount Littler paid is unknown, his World Championship winnings mean the buyout will barely hurt his growing fortune.

Littler sealed his second world title with a commanding 7-1 victory over Gian van Veen at Alexandra Palace last week, retaining the crown he won sensationally at the age of 17.

Estate agents praised the ‘spacious’ property as offering ‘excellent accommodation in a highly sought-after location’, noting the underfloor heating, wood stove, bi-fold doors, wine coolers and high-spec kitchen.

Outside, the home is built for entertaining, featuring artificial lawns, resin patios, raised beds, a bar area, and a jacuzzi under the pergola.

Although the nearby ‘reputable and well-established’ schools are not yet a priority for the young person, one detail may bother him; Döner lover Littler faces a three and a half mile journey to reach the nearest kebab shop.

Littler, who first picked up darts when he was 18 months old, spent the first six years of his life near Runcorn before moving to Warrington.

There he lived in a modest flat with his parents and sister Caitlin, and later attended the local comprehensive Padgate Academy.

The star, who was supported by girlfriend Faith Millar, 19, in the World Darts Championship final, has been enjoying success away from the clay ever since.

In November, he bought his first car – a personalized BMW M Sport 120 worth £39,000 – just days after passing his driving test.

Littler has already amassed more than £2 million in prize money from two years on the professional circuit, as well as lucrative sponsorship deals and Premier League earnings.

When asked how he would spend his Ally Pally winnings, Littler said he wanted to spend money on collectible football cards and “a few boxes” to watch Manchester United.

He said: ‘Frankly, that’s a lot of money. I am the first player to break the £2 million mark.

‘Hopefully I can try to get up to £3 million.

‘Clearly the money is there. ‘I’ve said it in the past, we as a family have never had this much money.’

Before his latest Ally Pally victory, his net worth was estimated to be around £6.5 million.
