Tamil Nadu Assembly election 2026 LIVE: Voting begins at 7 a.m. across 234 constituencies in the State
Voting has begun in eight Assembly constituencies in Erode district. Voting will be held between 07.00 and 18.00 in the morning and a total of 17,59,157 voters, including 8,47,197 men, 9,11,778 women and 182 of the third gender, will be able to vote. A total of 2,379 ballot boxes were set up at 983 points for voters to vote and 118 candidates are taking part in the fight.
The voting process started at 05.30 with a mock vote at all stands, with the participation of stand officials. Up to 50 votes were cast at each booth during mock voting, and votes recorded in electronic voting machines (EVMs) were verified with voter verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT) units. Fake poll certificates were issued by the Presidencies.
