Special forces soldier charged with making bets on U.S. capture of Maduro

A US special forces soldier who participated in the capture of former Venezuelan leader Nicolás Maduro has been charged with betting on the operation. Federal officials said the trooper “bet a total of approximately $33,034” on the operation. He ultimately won more than $409,000 as a result of the bets placed, according to an unsealed indictment.
