Speeding SUV Hits School Auto; Two Students Injured

ADILABAD: Two schoolgirls were seriously injured when a speeding SUV crashed into a school-bound car near CSI X Road in Luxettipet town of Mancherial district on Tuesday morning.

According to Luxettipet sub-inspector Suresh, the car was heading towards a ZPHS school in Bhagath Singh Colony when the SUV coming from the opposite direction hit it. 10 students were traveling in the car at the time of the accident.

After the crash, the car flew into the roadside culvert. In the accident, two female students were seriously injured and the other students were slightly injured. All the injured were taken to the district hospital for treatment.

SI said the road at the accident site was narrow. Passing citizens and residents helped remove students and their school bags from the damaged vehicle before police arrived at the scene. He added that a case has been registered against the Bolero driver.
