Top ISIS chiefs ‘arrested’ as US special forces launch insertion strike in Syria | World | News

Three senior Isis officials reportedly been arrested by US troops during a secret military operation in Syria. It is said that the US Special Forces have carried out the task of the Iraqi troops in the Syrian city of Attimah.

The operation included the use of unmanned aerial vehicles and three helicopters. The clashes have been reported and a ISIS militant is said to have been killed. Among those arrested was a French citizen who went to the Nom de Guerre of Abu Wadah Al-Faransi. The Islamist group, who was formerly a member of Al Qaeda in Syria, was a member of Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham.

The French citizen is said to be responsible for hiring Europeans to the terrorist organization.

The news of the arrests was broken by Burkan Al-Furat Group and has not yet been officially confirmed.

According to a US Thought -Bank War (ISW) Institute, Burkan Al Furat is said to be a militia group consisting of the former Free Syrian Army (FSA) from Northeast Syria and the Syrian National Army (SNA) fighters.

In May, he claimed responsibility for an attack on the Russian forces placed in Hmeimim Air Base and killed two Kremlin soldiers.

As other senior ISIS members, Abu Qais al-Iraq and Abu Muhammad al-Iraqi were arrested. While Abu Qais al-Iraq was a senior security official, Abu Muhammad Al-Iraq was once the governor of Salah al-religious in Iraq.

During the raid, after trying to escape, a militant was killed and jumped from a balcony to a garden before he was shot by the US and Iraq troops.

After the raid, the troops called the building and confiscated all mobile phones and electronic devices.

Burkan Al Furat initially claimed that the president of the president of Al-Qurashi, who was at the beginning of the secret mission, was arrested for “naked” during the secret mission.

Abu Hafs is the fifth and current leader of the Islamic State (Caliph), which played the role in August 2023. His appointment came four months after the death of his predecessor Abu al-Hussein al-Hussein al-Qurashi.
