The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Saturday, January 26, 2026, uploaded the names of people in the SIR logical inconsistencies list on its website following the order of the Supreme Court, a poll panel official said.

District election officials will now download the list and display it in panchayat bhavans and block offices as directed by the court.

On January 19, the Supreme Court directed the ECI to produce the names of people in the “logical inconsistencies” list at gram panchayat bhavans, taluka block offices and ward offices in West Bengal by Saturday, January 14. The court noted that 1.25 crore voters in the state were included in the list of “logical inconsistencies”.

“Lists of voters not included in the map and those with logical inconsistencies are available on our website,” the official said. PTI.

Logical inconsistencies in generations linked to the 2002 voter list include a mismatch in the parent’s name and the age difference between the voter and his or her parents being less than 15 years or more than 50 years.

A well-placed source said the poll panel was facing uncertainty in complying with the apex court’s directive as the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) had not received the required software till late on Friday night (January 23).
