San Antonio Spurs star Victor Wembanyama was ejected from Game 4 of the Western Conference semifinals after a heated argument with Minnesota’s Naz Reid in the paint.

The ejection took place at Target Center with 8:39 left in the first half.
As Wembanyama was swinging, hoping to cover the ball after the rebound, he released his high right elbow, which hit Reid square in the chin and sent the Timberwolves onto the floor.
Spurs teammate Dylan Harper was stunned as he was just feet away from the kick.

Officials initially ruled it a public foul, but when Minnesota fans became agitated, they switched to video review.
After reconsideration, the call was escalated to Flagrant 2.

Wembanyama left the field with only four points and four rebounds in the 12-minute match. His absence has left the Spurs without their main defensive anchor in an important road match.
Reid took advantage of both resulting free throws.

This marks the first time Wembanyama has been ejected from a match in his professional career.
The NBA will likely review the incident for further discipline.
