Staff ‘screaming’ after overhearing boss’ very awkward chat with his cat

Employees overheard their boss having an awkward conversation with his cat after forgetting to mute him on Zoom.

A woman on the team has described the embarrassing moment her boss started talking to his feline friend Mr Whiskers and even revealed his true feelings about some of his staff.

In a Reddit post titled “I overheard my boss in a Zoom meeting and died,” the woman wrote: “My boss forgot he wasn’t muted. Dude says to his cat, ‘Mr. Whiskers, you’re the only one who understands my point.’

“And then he keeps yelling, ‘Jenkins is a spreadsheet goblin who’s frustrating me in accounting.’ I’M SCREAMING.”

People reading the subject couldn’t get enough; some people admitted it “made their day”, while others branded it “pure gold”.

One user wrote: “You’re hiring? I’d be there screaming next to you, co-worker.”

The original employee quipped: “Leave your resume and cat treats and you’ll be hired.”

Even though the boss was treating an employee badly, some people thought that if he was a good employer, he deserved to be a little more relaxed.

They argued: “That’s pretty funny. If I were Jenkins, I wouldn’t even be a p***, I’d sign all my emails as the Goblin.”

“If this is on the level of a boss talking to his cat about work bulls, he and the cat need to be valued. Sounds like a great environment.”

Another person insisted that the call had already inspired him.

They added: “Thank you for sharing the spreadsheet goblins. I am an accountant who works with many spreadsheet goblins and they will forever be known as the spreadsheet goblins on Monday.”
