Stapleford gas leak LIVE: Homes evacuated as ‘avoid area’ warning issued | UK | News

Five fire trucks are currently on the scene and 30 properties have been evacuated. No injuries were reported.
The update from the fire service reads: “We still have five fire engines at the scene of the gas leak in Tevery Close, Stapleford. We are now joined by Nottinghamshire Police, the Environment Agency and Cadent in helping us resolve the incident.”
“Nearly 30 properties were evacuated as a precaution. No injuries were reported.
“There has been some speculation on social media that this was an explosion; we can confirm that this was a gas leak and all agencies on the scene are working hard to resolve this as effectively and efficiently as possible.
“We would like to ask people to continue to avoid the area, thank you.”
