Adele gives rare interview about son Angelo, 13, and reveals they’ve bonded over their joint ‘obsession’ with Formula 1 as she admits she ‘doesn’t sing very often now and her job is ridiculous’

Adele gave a rare interview about her son Angelo on Friday, revealing they bonded over their shared ‘obsession’ with Formula 1.
The 38-year-old megastar made a surprise appearance at McLaren Racing headquarters, where he chatted with CEO Zac Brown and F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri.
Adele could not hide her excitement when she said that she formed a close ‘bond’ with her 13-year-old son, with whom she lives with her ex-husband Simon Konecki, after he became interested in karting, a sport in which F1 drivers turn to this sport.
He said: ‘My son is really into karting and stuff like that. I don’t know. He asked that a few years ago and I said, “Okay.”
‘I don’t know too many young people with passion so I really try to encourage it. He’s obsessed, but so am I.

The 38-year-old singer made a surprise appearance at McLaren Racing headquarters and said he had formed a close ‘bond’ with his 13-year-old son, who has become interested in karting.
He continued: ‘But just like if your child has an interest, you should go for it. More importantly, I think you need to deal with it.
‘And I don’t think I ever expected to bond so passionately with my soon-to-be 14-year-old son over something we love to discuss about drivers.
‘But it was fun to have that interaction with a young kid in 2026, I wasn’t expecting it.’
The 16-time Grammy Award winner then joined 2025 F1 World Champion Lando in a candid conversation, where Lando asked: ‘Do you really still enjoy singing?’
Adele admitted: ‘I don’t sing very often anymore’ but she couldn’t resist belting out a few lines of Britney Spears’ Baby One More Time while wearing the headphones.
The Hello singer went on to discuss how ‘ridiculous’ her job is as she described her ‘struggle with fame’.
‘My god. I find it ridiculous that my profession is singing. No I never believed [it would happen]’ he said. ‘I wanted to be an A&R. I never thought I was talented.
‘I knew I was really good at music, so I thought I’d be great at discovering new talent.
‘It’s incredibly unlikely that a Tottenham girl will have any sort of career in England, let alone universal and so on. So that was never an option.
‘It’s well known that I struggle with the fame side. If I’m reminding myself that my job is singing, like it’s a joke, I always try to lean into that.’

It comes after Adele’s partner Rich Paul gave a rare insight into his five-year relationship with the singer.
The 45-year-old sports agent was first linked to the 38-year-old music superstar after they attended an NBA game together in 2021, and Adele confirmed their engagement three years later.
But while the couple are usually pretty secretive about their romance, in a new interview Rich was seen opening up about his high-profile relationship, spilling the beans on how they met and what turned their ‘intimate’ bond into something more.
Rich, who recently appeared on Craig Melvin’s Glass Half Full podcast, revealed that the two met “through a friend” and added that he had “known her for a while” before they started dating.
He expanded further and explained: ‘You know, just when you’re in these circles, man, you’re in these circles. But I never tried to freshen up with people who were in comfortable circles because they always have to deal with it, so it was never for me.
‘It was something that happened very organically, really.’
Going further to explain how they met, Rich explained how they ran into each other many times, which brought them even closer.
He told Craig: ‘We’re all in the same circle, we’re all in the same circle and you know, we hang out and stuff.
‘We would just see each other all the time, laughing and joking. He was very sincere, really very sincere.’
The entrepreneur later joked that before he became the iconic British singer’s ‘contact’, things between them remained cordial until ‘it got not-so-cordial’.
