‘Starmer just hastened his demise – it’s time to send Labour packing’ | Politics | News

Labor is in complete meltdown. The fratricide has begun in earnest. You could barely move for the entire Labor backbenchers who lined up to attack Sir Keir Starmer yesterday in scenes reminiscent of a Shakespearean drama. He stabbed her not only in the back but also in the front.

One by one they lined up on air to accuse the Prime Minister of being weak after Labour’s National Executive Committee blocked his rival Andy Burnham from standing in the upcoming Gorton and Dent byelection.

Sir Keir may think that seeing Mr Burnham off this time will result in a stay of execution as Prime Minister. In fact, it will do the exact opposite. It will almost certainly hasten his death.

Yesterday’s decision by the Starmer-friendly NEC was evidence that this is a Prime Minister who is out of time, out of allies and afraid of voters.

We already saw this last week with Reform UK’s disgraceful decision to cancel 29 local elections in May in areas where it was likely to win.

Denial of the basic democratic rights of 4.5 million voters. Only dictators cancel elections. Starmer should be ashamed of himself and his failed management

But Starmer is right to be afraid. Because while his government tries to tear itself apart, we at Reform UK are building a team to repair Broken Britain.

We will be announcing our candidate for the Gorton and Denton by-election in the coming days. This will give voters the chance to send a clear message to this government about its catastrophic mismanagement over the last 18 months.

The area had been a Labor Party stronghold for decades until now. But as Nigel Farage has made clear, we will be throwing everything at it, just as we will in the upcoming local elections.

The people of Gorton and Denton deserve better than this bitter, divided, broken Labor Party. Frankly, the entire country deserves better. It’s time to send in this hopeless, directionless, self-serving government package
