Starmer loses his cool with Tory MP in tense row over Iran conflict | News

Sir Keir Starmer lost his temper with Bernard Jenkin after the Conservative MP accused the prime minister of “not having a warrior mentality” when discussing Britain’s involvement in the Iran conflict.

On Monday 23 March, when the Prime Minister was taking questions from the Liaison Committee, Mr Jenkin said the Labor government was not acting with urgency and should “prepare the country for war”.

When Sir Keir said he was nearing completion of his investment plan, Jenkin quipped that it was “a tremendous whiff of relief”.

The Prime Minister responded, raising his voice slightly, that this “suggests the reality of years of underinvestment.” [Conservative] evacuation and evacuation of our government and armed forces”.
