ISC has not yet received the final tranche of the Mandelson files

Parliament’s Intelligence and Security Committee (ISC) said it had still not received all the files relating to Lord Peter Mandelson’s appointment and review.

The committee will review all documents that the government believes may pose a security risk and make any corrections it deems necessary.

ISC chairman Lord Beamish said they were told they would receive all the documents by April 10, but this did not happen.

According to Sky News, Lord Beamish said: “We still have not received all the remaining material. All the documents the Government submitted to the committee within the agreed timetable were treated by the committee as a priority matter.”

He continued: “None of these documents are relevant to the review process” and said the ISC was given only the first two documents relevant to the review at 8.30am on Monday.

“The committee is aware that it still needs to be provided with further documents relating to the investigation,” Lord Beamish said, adding that it was “disappointing” that they had not yet received them.
