Starmer says he felt ‘sick’ watching Henry Nowak bodycam video | News

Sir Keir Starmer said he felt “sickened” as he watched police cadet Henry Nowak lie on his deathbed.
The 18-year-old was handcuffed on his deathbed after being fatally stabbed by Vickrum Digwa in Southampton in December 2025.
Digwa, 23, told police he was the victim of a racist attack.
In the body-worn video, Mr. Nowak repeats “I’ve been stabbed” and then “I can’t breathe” as he is made to sit upright to be handcuffed. It was said that he was arrested for assault.
A police officer asks: “You were stabbed, where?” before adding: “Don’t think so, mate.”
The Prime Minister said the footage was “distressing” and added: “I must say, as the father of a 17-year-old boy, I felt sick while watching it.”
