Starmer says ‘no one above the law’ over Andrew-Epstein allegations

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should meet with officials in the UK and US about the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, Sir Keir Starmer said.

The Prime Minister has piled further pressure on the former prince by joining calls for him to give evidence about his links to the late pedophile financier.

Speaking to BBC Breakfast, Sir Keir insisted “no one is above the law” and said: “Anyone with any information should come forward. So anyone with relevant information, whether it’s Andrew or anyone else, should contact the relevant authority, in this particular case we’re talking about Epstein, but there are many more.”

“In my view, anyone with information about any aspect of violence against women and girls, no matter who they are, has a duty to come forward.”

Sir Keir added: “One of the fundamental principles of our system is that everyone is equal before the law and no one is above the law, and it is really important that this is enforced across the board.

“That’s the principle. It’s a long-standing principle, it’s a very important principle of our country, of our society, and it’s valid, and it should be valid in this case as in any other.”

On Wednesday, Chancellor Rachel Reeves added her voice to those calling on Andrew to speak out what he knows about the Epstein scandal, saying he “owes it to the victims”.

The former prince has been further embroiled in the Epstein scandal following the release of recent information that shed further light on his ties to the disgraced financier.

Published emails show the former Duke, who served as trade envoy between 2001 and 2011, sharing secret reports about his role as Britain’s trade envoy with Epstein.

A photo of an unidentified woman lying on the ground kneeling over her was also released.
