Norris was allowed to read a statement before being questioned and said that he wanted to express my real regret for the death of the victim in my case. “
He said: “I will go to my grave with that guilt in my heart” and “32 years ago, the events of that night should never be” he added.

When he was young, he said that he and his friends were “children who do not see color”.
As he got older, his guilty father Clifford wanted to imitate Norris: “I had to try to be bigger and worse than that.”
Norris also apologized to the feeling of black and ethnic minority communities after the murder of Mr. Lawrence, which had a great fluctuation effect that “negatively affect many people”.

Norris said to the conditional evacuation hearing: “I’m not here to discuss other people, I am here to take responsibility for my role in my actions.”

“I can’t give them everything they want, because it will pose a risk for me and my family.”
At the former Bailey hearing in 2011, he rejected his participation in killing, but he admitted that he had been at the scene since then.
The hearing was said to be inspired to admit a Catholic priest after watching the 2018 ITV documentary, where Neville Lawrence said that he forgave his son’s murderers.
Mr. Lawrence’s mother, Barones Doreen Lawrence, said in a statement to the hearing that he was afraid of his family’s security and that Norris was a “solid opinion” that should not walk freely.
“This individual is completely aware of the truth, but intentionally chose to lie and remain silent.
“If you have any uncertainty, I strongly recommend that you keep this individual in the current state until you are ready to reveal the truth.”

In the Old Bailey case of Norris, who was convicted of murder with Gary Dobson, did not prove who used the knife, but the judge found it with the couple with “knowledge and approval”.
The hearing said that Mr. Lawrence’s family “continued to be devastated by the murder.”

Williams added: “In this case, it is important to emphasize that a re -trial or attempting to punish David Norris on the sentence given by the court is not the purpose of an oral hearing.
“Panel makes a risk assessment.
