In the morning, violence emerged in East Jerusalem. The incident occurred in Yigal Yadin Street at Ramot Junction. According to reports, two armed men boarded a bus and opened fire on the passengers. Emergency services in Israel confirmed six deaths and others said that they were injured. Authorities said the attackers were “neutralized” shortly after shooting.
Local media shared images from the incident. The video showed people working in panic from a bus stop at a intersection near the northern entrance to Jerusalem. The attack shocked passengers and triggered heavy security deployment in the region.
Israeli Times reported that two armed men made fire. Inspectors examine the order of events and collect details about the attackers.
The attack arrived only hours after Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz published a warning to Hamas. Hamas said warriors should release and surrender. He warned that they would encounter destruction if they refused to wait.
The timing of shooting raised the questions in Israel, and the authorities treat it as part of the wider rise in the region.
India has repeatedly expressed solidarity with victims of terror worldwide. Modi’s words repeated this line once again. The message stressed the support to the affected in Jerusalem and strengthened the new Delhi’s consistent policy on violence against terrorism.
Emergency intervention teams remained at the scene for several hours. Security forces secured the region and controlled vehicles into and outside the city. The families of the victims received help from the municipal authorities, while the hospitals in Jerusalem treated the wounded.
The attack marked another part of the bloodshed in a region already stretched by conflict. Global leaders are expected to closely monitor the developments in the coming days.
