Stunning Photos Capture Horror Aftermath Of Twin Venezuela Earthquakes As Rescue Efforts Continue

Emergency search and rescue efforts are underway in northern Venezuela for survivors of two powerful earthquakes that twisted and shattered buildings and homes in the area on Wednesday evening, leaving countless dead and missing.

Photos from the scene show people desperately searching and digging under the rubble for potential survivors after the twin earthquakes, measuring 7.2 and 7.5 respectively, struck back-to-back at around 6pm.

Acting Mayor Delcy Rodriguez confirmed early Thursday that 164 people were killed and 971 injured. US Geological Survey’s meanwhile estimated It is stated that the death toll may vary between 10,000 and 100,000.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio he told reporters He said Thursday that the United States was sending search and rescue teams to the region and that long-term aid to the Caribbean nation “will be large, rapid and effective.”
