Sukesh Chandrasekhar offers ₹217 cr settlement to Aditi Singh in ₹200-cr extortion case

New Delhi: Jailed accused Sukesh Chandrasekhar approached Patiala Assembly Courts Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Prashant Sharma and offered to pay ₹217 crore to complainant Aditi Singh in the ₹200 crore extortion case.

The application was made through his lawyer Anant Malik, and it was clarified that the offer was made “without prejudice” to Chandrasekhar’s rights and did not amount to an admission of guilt. It was stated that the issue was listed for consideration on January 3, 2026.

The claim seeks that the parties be allowed to explore an agreement arising from an FIR registered by the Lodhi Colony Special Cell in New Delhi.
Chandrasekhar, who is currently in judicial custody, urged the court to give notice to the complainant and record that the settlement offer is bona fide and subject to her consent.

As background, Delhi Police arrested Chandrasekhar for allegedly cheating the wives of former Ranbaxy promoters Shivinder Singh and Malvinder Singh to the tune of Rs 200 crore. There are many separate investigations ongoing against him across the country.

Delhi Police arrested Chandrasekhar and his associate A Paulose in connection with the extortion case. They are also being processed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and are under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate.
Police also invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA) in the case.

According to Delhi Police, Chandrasekhar, Paulose and other accused allegedly used hawala channels and a network of shell companies to park and layer the proceeds of crime. The court has not yet ruled on the reconciliation application.
