Sunday Express to celebrate the best of Britain’s builders | UK | News

The flagship awards, which honor the best of British builders, will return for a second year following the success of the first event. The Sunday Express will continue its partnership with the British Construction and Property Awards, which have been re-launched in 2026 and expanded across more than 25 categories in response to strong industry demand.
It recognizes the businesses, developers and professionals who are leading Britain’s rebuilding boom. In addition to celebrating excellence in innovation, leadership and impact in the construction, real estate and real estate industries, several new categories have been added this year.
These include awards for the best short- and long-term loan providers, student accommodation developers, facilities management teams and international real estate agents; all of which reflect the breadth and evolution of the sector.
Construction companies, property developers, architects, lenders and professional advisors are now encouraged to make nominations; Applications will close at the end of this month and the shortlist will be announced in early February.
The ceremony, to be held in Manchester on 30 April, will shine a spotlight on projects, companies and individuals aiming for excellence at a time when the UK faces increasing pressure to deliver new homes, sustainable infrastructure and regeneration at scale.
Sara Cahill, of the British Construction and Property Awards, said: “Last year exceeded all expectations. The quality of entries was outstanding and the response from across the industry was fantastic.
“Demand for 2026 was already incredible, so we expanded the program to include more than 20 categories, with several new additions driven directly by industry feedback.
“These awards are about accurate recognition of the scale, diversity and ambition of a sector that plays a vital role in the UK economy.”
Main categories include Property Developer of the Year, Emerging Property Developer of the Year, Construction Business of the Year, Property Champion of the Year, CEO of the Year and Net Zero Award; In addition, there are categories that recognize excellence in architecture, law, marketing, sustainability and equality, diversity and inclusion.
A Sunday Express spokesman said: “Following the outstanding success of the inaugural awards, we are proud to continue our partnership with the British Construction and Property Awards.
“These awards celebrate the people, projects and organizations shaping the future of the built environment, and the expansion of categories this year reflects how dynamic and far-reaching the sector has become. This is a prestigious event that continues to go from strength to strength.”
