Superdrug issues urgent product recall due to ‘serious health risk’ | UK | News

SuperDrugs are asked to stop using them at a time after they label sprays as a “serious danger danger. A safety warning from the Product Safety and Standards Office (OPSS) confirms that all 236ml bottles of Chinese Soulcal & Co body fogs contain buttilphenyl methylpropional (also known as lilial), which are banned in cosmetic products throughout 2022.

“The product offers a serious chemical risk because it contains butilphenyl methylpropional that is prohibited in cosmetic products. It can damage the BMHCA reproductive system, damage the health of the unborn child and cause skin sensitivity,” he says.

Five odors are affected:

  1. Raspberry & Lotus Blossom
  2. Mango and Passion Fruit
  3. Apple & Waterlily
  4. Coco Plum & Jacaranda
  5. Beach rose and coconut water

Each odor was sold in a plastic bottle with Soulcal & Co branding.

While the sprays were previously stocked by SuperDrug, the discount chain Farmfoods also removed them.

OPSS, “the products were recalled by end users by the manufacturer. Affected products withdrawn by farm foods withdrawal,” he added.

Customers can return the product to the store for a complete repayment.

Lilial was widely used for the smell of flowers, but it was re -classified to toxic to growth in accordance with the EU rules.

Since March 2022, the chemical has been illegal in new cosmetic formulations, and the remaining stocks had to be cleaned from the shelves by the end of that year.

OPSS reminded the retailers that “Lilial -containing products should not be supplied in the UK ve and called for consumers to control the labels of old cosmetics and bathrooms.

SuperDrug lists the product as no longer on the website. Customers with questions are recommended to contact the customer service team.

If you believe that you react in connection with the recycled sprays, you should get medical advice and report the incident to the citizen’s advice or local trade standards to your office.
