AP Launches SMS-Based Advisory to Aid Farmers

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh’s Ministry of Agriculture has initiated an SMS -based information service within the scope of the EP Agricultural Information Management System 2.0 to provide farmers on a crop -related issues, to provide technical advice and guidance at the field level.
Farmers will now receive comprehensive counseling messages on resource presence, weather conditions, water management, pest and disease control and other issues specific to the field. While the collective SMS system allows the technical recommendations to be presented quickly and extensively, the progress of artificial intelligence instruments integrated into the platform, in progressing pests and disease outbreaks.
Agricultural Director Dilli Rao said on Saturday that the initiative aims to provide localized and practical consultation services designed according to crops and regional requirements. These recommendations will be sent to many farmers in real time.
Village Rythu Seva Kendra personnel, latch agricultural officers and AP pest surveillance survey system application will be analyzed as well as historical data about water, rainfall, pest and disease incidence and weather. Based on this, the AI system will provide forward warnings and practical solutions.
Outside, SMS service is not limited to smartphones, but also work on basic phones. Rao said that the collective SMS pushing system will strengthen farmers with scientific knowledge, raise awareness about pest and disease management and support independent decisions. He added that the service will significantly expand the information social assistance of the department and help farmers to access technology -based solutions, increase productivity and reduce agricultural difficulties.
