Tiger crosses river Godavari, returns to human habitations from Papikonda National Park

A tiger, which reportedly crossed the Godavari River from Papikonda National Park (PNP), reportedly attacked three cattle near Torredu in Rajamahendravaram rural area in East Godavari district in the early hours of Sunday, February 1. The same tiger was last seen entering PNP through Buttayagudem mandal in Eluru district on January 29.
BNN Murthy, Chief Conservator of Rajahmundry Forest, said: Hindu On Sunday: “Tiger attacked cattle near Torredu. Forest department personnel have been deployed to monitor the tiger’s movements.”
When contacted, Torredu farmers confirmed the attack by the tiger, whose boxer tracks were recorded by them. Located on the banks of the Godavari river, Torredu is an agricultural region and cattle owners raise their cattle on the islands.
