Survey Predicts A Significant Victory For DMK

What happened? According to a survey conducted by Agni News Service, a private agency, the DMK alliance will win 180 of the total 234 constituencies by securing 44.9 per cent of the votes in the April 23 Assembly elections, while the AIADMK-BJP-led NDA will bag 38.5 per cent votes and win 54 constituencies.
Addressing the media at the Chennai Press Club on Monday, Agni News Services CEO R Suresh Kumar said that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay and Naam Tamilar Katchi (NTK) Chief Coordinator Seeman are likely to face defeat.
The AIADMK alliance was expected to suffer a major defeat, winning only 1 out of 37 seats in the Chennai region and only 2 seats in the central region. In the southern region, out of 58 constituencies, the DMK alliance is leading in 42 and the AIADMK alliance is leading in 16.
In the central region, the DMK alliance is leading in 35 out of 37 constituencies and the AIADMK alliance is leading in 2. In the western region, the DMK alliance is leading in 32 out of 50 constituencies and the AIADMK alliance is leading in 18.
In the northern region, out of 52 constituencies, the DMK alliance is leading in 35 and the AIADMK alliance is leading in 17.
He said 49 per cent of women consider Tamil Nadu as a safe state for women and as per the survey, more than 60 per cent of women voters are expected to support DMK in this election.
He said that the social welfare programs implemented by the DMK government for women have had a significant impact and the financial assistance of ₹ 5,000 provided by the government has created a huge impact among women.
The overall vote share estimates were: DMK: 44.9%, AIADMK: 38.6%, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam: 9.7%, Naam Tamilar Katchi: 4.8% and others: 2.1%.
He stated that the members of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam were living in a “fantasy world” and predicted that Vijay himself would lose, second in Perambur and Seeman in Karaikudi.
He further said that women are satisfied under the DMK government, and that more than 60% of women voters are expected to support the DMK in this election. He stated that the social welfare programs implemented by the DMK government for women, especially the financial assistance of Rs 5,000 provided by it, had a significant impact.
