The victims were identified as 84-year-old Judith Castiglia and her husband Fred, 90, and 53-year-old Deborah Castiglia.

The investigation began after Deborah Castiglia’s boyfriend visited her parents’ home on Heather Road in the Churchville area of Northampton County around 2:15 p.m. Monday.

Her boyfriend said he saw Deborah’s car there but saw no footprints in the snow that fell on Sunday.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office held a press conference regarding the Churchville murders on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.

He went home because, according to police, he had been trying to contact Deborah for several days but could not reach her at home.

Kevin Castiglia answered the door and at first said Deborah was “probably going on vacation,” according to court documents.

The affidavit shows Kevin Castiglia opening the door with a knife in his hand and allegedly saying, “Don’t come in here again or I’ll kill you.”

The boyfriend ran away and called 911.

When officers arrived, police said Kevin Castiglia came to the door with two knives, and police believe at least one of them had blood on it.

Police said the man began “speaking incoherently” and pointed the knives at officers when asked about his family.

Police said officers used stun guns, but Kevin Castiglia closed and locked the door after removing the stun guns from his body.

The South Central Emergency Response Team was called and they entered the home.

When they entered, they found a woman, believed to be Deborah, dead in the kitchen. A short time later they found the other victims dead in the back bedroom of the house.

Kevin Castiglia then barricaded himself in his second-floor bedroom. After a five-hour standoff, he was arrested and taken to the hospital.

Chopper 6 captured some of the activity through a window at the back of the house, showing a member of the emergency response team knocking on what appeared to be a door in the back room.

Chopper 6’s video shows police activity Monday at a home in Northampton Twp., Bucks County, where three people were found dead and one person was taken into custody.

When he arrived at the hospital, Kevin Castiglia allegedly told the doctor, “I hurt someone.”

Then, about two hours later, he told hospital employees, “I killed my mom and dad in their sleep” and “I killed my sister when she found them,” according to the affidavit.

After being released from the hospital and taken to police headquarters, investigators said Kevin Castiglia once again confessed to stabbing Fred, Judith and Deborah Castiglia to death.

He was accused of murder, abuse of a corpse, and many other crimes.

Investigators say they cannot comment on a possible motive for the killings.

The DA’s office tells Action News that an attorney has not yet been assigned for Kevin Castiglia.

Bucks County District Attorney Joe Khan praised the “admirable efforts” and “heroic restraint” shown by Northampton County police and the South Central Emergency Response Team.

Bucks County Prosecutor Joe Khan has released some new details about the deaths of three people found in Nothampton Twp. House.

“Despite confronting an armed individual in excruciatingly difficult conditions for nearly five hours in bitter cold, officers averted further tragedy by using every tactical resource available to take the suspect into custody alive,” Khan said.

He said this appeared to be an isolated incident and there was no ongoing danger to the community.

Action News has learned that Deborah taught in the Centennial School District for 26 years.

The district said crisis teams will be at Tennent High School and Klinger Middle School, where Deborah taught throughout her career.

The Bucks County District Attorney’s Office has scheduled a news conference for Wednesday at 1 p.m.
