US General Says US Forces “Ready” if Iran Ceasefire Ends

Washington: The US military is ready to restart strikes against Iran at the direction of President Donald Trump, the US general said on Wednesday.

“Let’s be clear, the ceasefire is a pause and the joint force remains ready when ordered or called upon,” Gen. Dan Caine said at a news conference.

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth also said that “we are ready in the background to ensure that Iran complies” with the terms of the ceasefire agreed on Tuesday.
