Bessent made same claims Trump cited to fire Lisa Cook

Treasury secretary Scott Bessent agreed to call two different houses “main residence” – a similar claim as President Donald Trump referred to when he tried to ignite the federal reserve governor Lisa Cook. According to a report Wednesday.
In September 2007, the documents admitted that each of the houses in Bessent, both Bedford Hills, New York and Massachusetts and Provincetown would be the main residence. Bloomberg reported.
According to previous reports, Cook signed mortgage agreements, which declared that each of the houses in Michigan and Atlanta were the main houses in Atlanta. Cook signed these documents within two weeks before being appointed to the Board of Directors of the FED in the summer of 2021.
Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte repeatedly accused Cook for his mortgage fraud after publishing Mortgage documents on social media in August.
The Ministry of Justice launched a Cook investigation after receiving a penalty from Pulte dated 15 August, which claimed that it falsified the residence status of two properties to secure more appropriate interest rates and credit conditions.
Trump said he fired Cook on 25 August based on Pulte’s claims. Cook filed a lawsuit to prevent the abolition, refused to make a mortgage fraud.
Washington decided that Trump could not cook while Trump’s case was continuing.
Trump’s effort to remove the cook came after months of failing to reduce interest rates for months.
BESSENT, in an interview in August FOX business networkHe was asked about Cook’s situation.
“There are people who think that President Trump makes unnecessary pressure on the Fed.” He said.
“And like President Trump and myself, if a FED official makes a mortgage fraud, there is a people who think that this should be examined and that they should not serve as one of the leading financial regulators of the country.”
Bank of AmericaIn a letter to the Treasury Secretary sent in the last few weeks, the lending of mortgages for two components, both Bedford Hills and Provincetown properties are aware that they are “secondary houses”.
“As your bankers, we were well aware of your primary housing”, the Bank General Manager Bessent wrote in Manhattan, he said.
“Regardless of the mortgage product you receive, interest rates do not change according to use as primary and secondary residence, and no mortgage has been supported or sold to any organization or other investor supported by the government. “
Rider documents associated with mortgage agreements also show Bedford and Provincetown houses called secondary houses.
Bessent’s personal lawyer Alex Spiro detonated Bloomberg’s report.
Mortgage experts told Bloomberg that it was not a sign of wrong by BESSENT, and one of them said that neither the case nor Cook did not show fraud because the plans for both debtor’s properties were announced to the lending.
Spiro, CNBC’ye said in a statement, “About 20 years ago, Mr. Bessent’s lawyers filled the documents properly, the bank confirmed that it was done properly, and this ridiculous article said in a statement to CNBC, all of them are done properly.” He said.
The Ministry of Treasury refused to comment in the article.
Bloomberg’s report said Cook and Bessent’s situation is not the same.
Cook personally signed the mortgage agreements, was signed by a lawyer on behalf of Bessent.
And both the mortgages of Bessent were with the same lending with Bank of America, Cook was two different banks.
However, there is evidence that the loans are aware of Cook’s real plans for relevant properties, just as Bank of America said that he knows the intentions of Bessent.
Reuters reported that last week that the loan estimation of Cook called Cook’s “Holiday House” of Cook.
Lawyer Charles Rich, who represented Bessent in 2007 Mortgage agreements, made a statement to CNBC.
“Mr. Besent’s lawyer and agent, Bedford Hills in September 2007, a mortgage loan for Bedford Hills, New York, a lawyer I signed to finance a new residence under a mortgage loan was on power.” He said.
“At the same time as the closing of 2007, I applied a second mortgage as an additional guarantee in a property in MA,” Provincetown said.
Rich, “Bank of America, provincetown, Ma property was not a basic residence and the need to be used as the main residence was completely aware of the need to be used.” He said.
“There was absolutely no inappropriate about the loan applications that he was involved in the minimum level, as Mr. Bessent authorized me as a lawyer and an agent to close these credit transactions.” He said.
