Switchover to VAHAN Portal to Stablise Within 15 Days

Hyderabad: The transport department said on Thursday that issues with the VAHAN portal were being addressed and it expected the process to stabilize within 15 days.
The government has implemented the VAHAN portal developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC) to facilitate and digitize vehicle-related services, officials said. Staggering the rollout on a module-by-module basis results in temporary outages during the transition.
The Ministry said that the Fancy Number (Special Registration Number) module was put into operation and 858 tenders were made through the portal. A total of 2,200 vehicles have been issued Permanent Registration (PR) numbers across Telangana so far.
Officials said that Temporary Registration services were successfully created and the module became stable, while other services were gradually activated.
Additional modules are being integrated and the system is expected to support seamless delivery of services once the rollout is completed within the stipulated timeframe.
