Sydney metro services down, trains hit with major delays

Passengers are facing major delays in Sydney’s transport network due to the partial closure of the metro line and disruptions to the train system following the severe storm that devastated the city.
Sydney tube services are not operating between Chatswood and Barangaroo stations on the M1 line due to a power supply issue between Barangaroo and Victoria Cross stations.
Services on the entire line were completely closed earlier on Thursday but are now running between Tallawong and Chatswood and only between Barangaroo and Sydenham.
Heavy rail train services are also not operating in both directions on the T1 North Shore line between Gordon and North Sydney stations “due to severe weather affecting infrastructure”, Transport for NSW said.
Stating that spare buses are not currently available and that some trains may stop on platforms or between stations for longer than usual, the company called on passengers to postpone travel if possible or consider using other options.
There are also delays on the T1 Western Line, T2 Leppington & Inner West Line, T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line and T5 Cumberland Line.
