Sydney Sweeney shocks Euphoria viewers with jaw-dropping scene

Sydney Sweeney has shocked Euphoria viewers once again, but this time it’s not limited to her nude scenes.

The 28-year-old actress was praised for her acting skills after a preview of Sunday’s episode of the HBO Max show was released on Friday.

Although Sweeney’s signature cleavage is on full display on stage, it is her ability to perform a monologue from William Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra that has fans stunned.

“Hate her all you want but she’s carrying Season 3 on her back,” one viewer commented.

‘I think he’s an absolutely amazing actor! Glad we saw him in a different light,’ wrote another.

A third added: ‘Honestly she’s winning an Emmy. Sydney is head and shoulders above everyone else right now in season three. I’m absolutely slaughtering it!’

“Unfortunately for us Sydney haters she’s making this show OMG,” another wrote.

So far, Sweeney has been at the center of backlash from Euphoria viewers over her character Cassie’s nude scenes.

In the latest season, Cassie turned to OnlyFans to make ends meet, and Euphoria director Sam Levinson certainly wasn’t shy about showing the X-rated side of online sex work.

Some scenes feature Sweeney wearing a number of disturbing outfits, including a small child wearing a diaper and a pet dog.

Viewers were already taken aback by Cassie’s ‘puppy play’ exploits, which led to Levinson having to defend the scenes.

He told The Hollywood Reporter:[Cassie] It has a doghouse, little dog ears and nose, and that has its own humor, but what creates the scene is that it’s the maid who pulls it off.

‘What we always want to find is that other layer of absurdity that we can attach to it so that we’re not too inside its fantasy or illusion – the joke, the jumping out, the breaking down the wall,’ he added.

Speaking about her character’s OnlyFans career in the season three premiere, Sweeney told Entertainment Tonight: ‘I mean, Cassie is a crazy character.’

He continued: ‘This season she will do anything it takes to become famous and she makes some very crazy and interesting choices.’

Since its premiere in 2019, the show has become famous for breaking boundaries with its graphic depiction of teen drug use, sex and violence.

But despite the harsh criticism and hurtful reactions to the controversial show’s final season, Euphoria is a bona fide ratings sensation.

Accordingly DiversityThe second episode of the third season reached 8.5 million viewers on HBO and HBO Max in its first three days in the US alone.

These are similar numbers to the season premiere and prove that Euphoria has serious staying power.

Ratings have significantly eclipsed the second season so far; Euphoria has already dethroned blockbuster medical drama The Pitt from the top of HBO Max’s streaming chart.
