Syracuse defender's 'suspicious' injury during Tennessee game draws sharp criticism from announcers

There was almost nothing that the Syracuse’s defense could do to stop Tennessee number 23 on Saturday, but they certainly tried it.

Volunteers walked with 45-26 victories against the Orange from Atlanta, but in the second quarter, a moment – a goal scoring for Tennessee – surprised the announcers of the game.

When about 1:25 in the first half, the volunteers were walking in the field and quickly earned 63 yards in two games.

This, of course, has stopped too much, too much clocks in the call of Bob Wiscusen and Louis Riddick, not only Tennessee fans, but also commentators.

“This is not a good look. That looked clear, Rid Riddick said. “They’re trying to destroy such things, imitating injuries, and I don’t want to assume anything about any player, but that looked suspicious.”

“This is not what college football wants,” Riddick added. “They are trying to get this out of the game. Strategically we understand why the defenses are trying to do this when they are in their heels … But this is something you will be punished if the referees catch.”

Samuels soon returned to the field, and Wiscusen called Tennessee before he did it before.

Tennessee 31-14 increased as the visible tactic did not work.

Syracuse will host Uconn in the hope of winning his first victory next week, while Tennessee will go to 2-0 when they host the East Tennessee province next week.
