T.N. Assembly election: Cases filed against DMK, AIADMK candidates for alleged distribution of ₹8,000 coupons and ₹10,000 tokens

The Madras High Court on Thursday, April 16, 2026, agreed to hear two writ petitions on Friday, April 17, one accusing many DMK candidates in general of giving ₹ 8,000 vouchers to voters due to the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and the other accusing AIADMK candidate Royapuram Mano alias R. Manohar of specifically distributing them. ₹10,000 token in Port constituency in Chennai.

First Division Chief Justice Sushrut Arvind Dharmadhikari and Justice G. Arul Murugan accepted advocate AP Suryaprakasam’s plea for urgent hearing of the case filed against the DMK candidates and said that if the number of both of them is received by the end of the day, the case filed by advocate K. Raveendran against the AIADMK candidate will also be heard on Friday.
