Bill Maher takes shots at fellow liberal comedian Larry David. HBO host criticized David’s April column “My Dinner with Adolf” in The New York Times calls it “silly” and “useless.”
The “Seinfeld” co-creator satirized Maher’s intimate dinner with President Donald Trump in March, depicting a fictional dinner between him and Adolf Hitler in 1939 and reflecting that “if the world could see this side of him, people would have a completely different view.”
While discussing what he sees as the more “crazy” aspects of both the Democratic and Republican parties, Maher noted that while he “will never stop pointing out” things he finds wrong about the Trump administration, it is unreasonable to leave some people out of the conversation.

“But I’m an adult, and there are some people in the real world that you just can’t stop talking to, like your spouse or your partner after a bad fight. That’s how tempting it is. Like a boss, like your family, and like the president of the United States. It’s so childish, it’s totally emotional,” he said.
Shifting his attention to those who criticized him for meeting with Trump, Maher continued: “People who were very upset that I had dinner [Trump]You know, because he’s Hitler. But not him. “He’s so useless and stupid.”
As he spoke, a graphic appeared on the screen showing the Times column headline, “Larry David: My Dinner with Adolf.”
The “Real Time” host argued that Trump is “the most supportive president Israel and Jews have ever had,” before escalating his criticism of David personally.
“You know, every year I’d ask Larry David to do ‘Real Time,’ and he’d always say, ‘Bill, I can’t do it. I’m not smart enough about politics to do your show.’ “Yeah, I get that now,” he joked. “Because there’s no debate here. There’s a sugar rush experienced by people who are out of touch because they never came second in the ‘I hate Trump the most’ contest.”

Finishing his criticism of David, Maher questioned whether the left’s strategy was to “go full high school” and “tell the guy with all his might that he can’t sit at the lunch table with you.”

This wasn’t the first time Maher spoke out in David’s column titled “My Dinner with Adolf.” In April, Maher appeared on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and was asked about the satirical piece that fueled David’s positive exchange with Trump.
“This wasn’t my favorite moment of our friendship,” Maher said of David.
“But I think the minute you play the Hitler card, you’ve lost the argument,” Maher told host Piers Morgan. “I also have to say, come on, man. Hitler? Nazis? No one has ever been tougher or more forward-thinking about Donald Trump than I have, I have to say. I don’t need to be lectured on who Donald Trump is. Even having met him in person hasn’t changed that, and it’s no sin that I’ve reported that honestly.”

“To use the Hitler thing, first of all I think it’s an insult to the six million dead Jews. So that has to have its place in history. And I know people might say, ‘Well, that’s just how we compare it.’ This is an argument you’re losing just to begin with.
“Hitler really needs to stay put. He is the GOAT of evil and I think we’ll have to leave it that way.”
A representative for David did not immediately respond to that question. ‘Fox News Digital’request for comment.
