ESPN broadcasters Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit made fun of Oklahoma Sooners kicker Tate Sandell’s shorts during the team’s win over the Tennessee Volunteers.

Sandell entered the game to kick a 51-yard field goal in the second quarter and his game attire became the subject of controversy. Fowler said short shorts “are no longer welcome in sports.” “This is for me,” Herbstreit responded.

“This should be a punishment. Even dressing like this should be a punishment,” Herbstreit added. “What is it? Are you wearing shorts in there?”

Sandell made a field goal to give Oklahoma a 13-10 lead with 1:09 left in the first half.

“She put on her Daisy Dukes and put them right back in the middle,” Herbstreit said.

Short shorts or not, Sandell was after the money all night. He was 4-for-4 on field goal attempts and his long field goal of the night was 55 yards. He also made all three extra point attempts.
