Alleged Bondi gunman charged with 15 counts of murder

Naveed Akram, the surviving suspect in Sunday’s mass shooting at Bondi Beach in Sydney, has been charged with 59 offences, including 15 murders and one count of committing an act of terrorism, according to New South Wales Police.

The other gunman’s father, 50-year-old Sajid Akram, was killed at the scene as a result of an exchange of fire with the police.

15 people died and dozens were injured in an attack targeting the Jewish community in Australia at an event celebrating the first night of Hanukkah.

It was the deadliest shooting in the country since 1996.
