The four-day India Stonemart-2026 concluded in Jaipur on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with a call to maintain ecological balance through safe mining practices and related processing activities in the stone industry. Participants emphasized the protection of the environment and natural resources in the stone industry.
Digital cutting, robotic finishing, ultra-thin sheets and sustainable stone architecture were highlighted as key areas with “tremendous future potential” in the stone industry. Rajasthan Governor Haribhau Bagade spoke at the farewell ceremony of the event at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The 13th edition of Stonemart witnessed the participation of a large number of stone exhibitors, entrepreneurs, exporters and start-up representatives from India and abroad. The organizing body, Stone Development Center, announced that the next edition will be held in 2028.
Mr. Bagade said that Rajasthan is a leader in stone mining as well as diversification and exports. “We need to make firm efforts to explore the entrepreneurial and industrial potential associated with stone mining. The craftsmanship and aesthetic appeal of stones have helped create a distinct identity of this sector,” he said.
The governor said ensuring social security in mining is not just a matter of policy but the moral responsibility of a mature industry. He said Rajasthan, which accounts for 70% of the country’s stone mining and processing, is among the largest producers of marble, granite and sandstone.
Mr. Bagade presented awards to the best 36 stalls, craft artists and institutions in various categories at this event. Among those who attended the graduation ceremony were Speaker Vasudev Devnani and Minister of State for Industry and Commerce KK Vishnoi.
Mr. Devnani called on entrepreneurs in the stone industry to embrace innovation, technology and environmental sustainability. Other speakers said Stonemart effectively demonstrated the province’s global potential and strengthened collaboration between industry, government and entrepreneurs.
