Boy, 4, killed by falling Rawtenstall Cemetery gravestone

The police said that a four -year -old child died after a grave stone falling in a cemetery.

Lancashire police said that the child was deadly injured at the Rawtenstall Cemetery in Burnley Road from Hasling at 13:00 on Saturday.

A power spokesman tried to save him, but he died in a “tragic” child “destructive” incident.

He added that death would not be treated as a suspicious and that a file would be sent to a “timely” forensic medical officer.

Police spokesman, civil servants were called to the cemetery, “a grave stone fell to a child reported.”

“The child died in a tragic way and despite the best efforts of emergency services.

“Our thoughts are with their loved ones in this destructive time.”

For Rosendale and Darwen, workers’ deputy Andy Macnae said that their thoughts went to the family and everyone who was affected by the “tragic event”.
