Virginia Roberts Giuffre: Epstein accuser’s memoir sells 1m copies in two months | Books

The posthumous memoir by Virginia Roberts Giuffre, one of Jeffrey Epstein’s best-known accusers, sold 1 million copies worldwide within two months of its release.
Publisher Alfred A Knopf announced Tuesday that more than half of Nobody’s Daughter’s sales came from North America; In the US, the book is now in its 10th printing following an initial printing of 70,000 copies. Giuffre’s book, co-written by author-journalist Amy Wallace, was published in early October.
The memoir helped revive criticism of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, a former British prince who Giuffre claims had sex with her when she was 17. It has also increased demands that the Justice Department release its files on Epstein, who killed himself in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
Giuffre died by suicide in April at the age of 41.
“This is a bittersweet moment for us,” Giuffre’s family, which includes brothers Sky Roberts and Danny Wilson, said in a statement. “We are extremely proud of our sister and the impact she continues to have on the world. We are also deeply saddened that she cannot be here to witness the impact of her words. In her absence, our family is committed to ensuring that her voice endures forever.”
A few weeks after Giuffre’s book was published, King George III. Charles stripped Mountbatten-Windsor of his remaining titles and evicted him from the royal house.
Mountbatten-Windsor has long denied Giuffre’s allegations but resigned from royal duties in November 2019 following a disastrous BBC interview in which she attempted to refute her claims.
He paid millions in an out-of-court settlement in 2022 after Giuffre filed a civil lawsuit against him in New York. Although he did not admit wrongdoing, he acknowledged that Giuffre had suffered as a victim of sex trafficking.
This week Giuffre’s family expressed their “deep disappointment” after the Metropolitan police announced Mountbatten-Windsor would not face a criminal investigation in the UK over the allegations against her.
