Trump Announces 3-Day Russia-Ukraine Ceasefire
President Donald Trump said Friday that the leaders of Russia and Ukraine agreed to his request for a three-day ceasefire and prisoner exchange, which could be the “beginning of the end” of their long war.
But in the Middle East, the tenuous ceasefire in the US war with Iran has become even more tense.
The United States announced that it prevented attacks on three Navy ships in the Strait of Hormuz and retaliated against Iran’s military facilities. Hours later, U.S. Central Command said its forces had neutralized two more Iranian tankers trying to break through the American blockade of Iranian ports.
Meanwhile, Washington awaits a response from Tehran in negotiations to end the war.
