Train routes commence through new stations Arden, Parkville, State Library, Town Hall, Anzac station as tunnel opens
Jackson Davis dressed up for the occasion, wearing a suit and Metro Tunnel pins to commemorate the occasion.
“Suits are for a special occasion, and since this is such a monumental government project… Today is a very special day,” he said.
“This is not just for enthusiasts, but also for those who want to see a better transportation plan implemented from time immemorial.”

Matthew Boldiston said he had been following the opening of the tunnel station in stages but was happy to see everything coming together in one journey.
“This is just a dream come true,” he said.
Adam Bain said that he was a high school student when he first started following the project.
“It will be strange if the Metro Tunnel is not foreseen in my lifetime,” he said.
Bain hasn’t visited the stations yet, he’s saving that for today, but he’s excited to discover the “five wonders of the Metro Tunnel” at each stop.
“City Hall, the concourse at Parkville, the shelter at Anzac, the gun incident (artwork) at Arden and the platform at the State Library,” he said. “It’s very exciting to see what the government is doing.”
