BCCI names India squad for U19 World Cup; Vaibhav Suryavanshi included, Ayush Mhatre to lead

BCCI has announced India’s upcoming U19 World Cup squad, which includes youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Ayush Mhatre was named captain as India looks to defend its strong legacy in youth World Cup cricket.

BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) has grabbed attention by announcing the India U19 squad for the upcoming U19 World Cup and the upcoming series against South Africa. Five-time champions India (2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and 2022) were placed in Group B along with New Zealand, USA and Bangladesh. The campaign will kick off against the USA at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo on January 15, followed by matches against Bangladesh at the same venue on January 17 and New Zealand on January 24.

Before the start of the U19 World Cup, the team will face South Africa U19 in a three-match ODI series. Matches will be held on January 3, 5 and 7. It will be interesting to see how India perform in the upcoming series with Vaibhav at the helm.
