30 under-30: young trailblazers shaping Canberra’s vibrant future | The Canberra Times

Ten years ago, these four 9th grade kids had a sleepover and watched the movie Jack Black Rock Schooland I decided to form a band. As the retelling goes, the next day they picked up their instruments and started playing, but it took them a while to get really good at it. By 2025, vocalist Anna Ryan, guitarist Scarlett McKahey, drummer Neve van Boxsel and bassist Jaida Stephenson had transitioned from performing Nirvana covers to playing with Dave Grohl. They also performed at Arias, opening for Pearl Jam last year, and recently released their second album. Gloryapplaud. It’s far from a school festival in Canberra, but this group is real. And they’re still in their mid-20s.
