The Emirates Boeing 747 freighter, identified as EK9788 and operating as Aerotranscargo, crashed just before 4am local time on Monday, October 20, while arriving at Hong Kong International Airport from Dubai. ABC News, Reuters And BBChe cited airport officials.
The plane crashed into a car on the runway, and both the car and the plane crashed into the ocean at the same time. 2 workers in the vehicle died. According to the information obtained, one of the injured died at the scene and the other died in the hospital where he was taken.

Emirates confirmed to Reuters that its aircraft were leased and operated by ACT Airlines, a Turkish airline that provides extra cargo capacity to major airlines.
“The crew was confirmed to be safe and there was no cargo on board,” the airline said in a statement. he said.

Flight tracking information obtained by Reuters stated that the plane was 32 years old and was previously used as a passenger plane.

Local media reported that the Hong Kong Government Flight Service deployed helicopters over the affected runway and Fire Services Department ships also assisted in rescue operations.
Investigators have not yet shared what caused the plane to skid off the runway.
According to the BBC, the incident marks a rare occurrence at the Hong Kong airport as the facility has good security records.
