‘Breaking Bad’ star Aaron Paul moves family to Paris following LA fires

Aaron Paul touched on his life in Los Angeles again.
During a recent interview Daily Mail, The 46-year-old “Breaking Bad” star shared what he and his family experienced after leaving Los Angeles and living in Paris.
“Paris is amazing,” he said, noting that he and his wife, Lauren, “always dreamed of spending a year abroad” and that the two “always wanted to be around a completely different culture.”
While it was always their dream to live outside the United States, it wasn’t until the wildfires in Los Angeles in early 2025 that they took action to make those dreams a reality.

“When the fire broke out in Los Angeles, we knew we were done with Los Angeles, so we sold our house in Los Angeles and moved to Paris,” he said.
The actor listed his three-bedroom home in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles for $9.9 million in July.
Homes were lost in Pacific Palisades and Altadena as both the Palisades Fire and Eaton Fire burned in their respective areas in January.
Among the thousands of people who lost their homes in the fires were “Top Gun: Maverick” actor Miles Teller, Paris Hilton, Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal and many other Hollywood stars.

“You’ll hear from a lot of people who were tragically affected by these fires, and I was one of them,” Crystal said on stage at the LA FireAid Benefit Concert in January. “These were the clothes I wore when I ran away from my house with my wife, Janice, as most of us did on January 7. It was all I had. I wore it and an N-95 mask for a week.
When he was first allowed back onto the property of the home where he had lived for 46 years, “I stepped onto the ground, fell to my knees, and shrieked.” He concluded his speech with an uplifting message to everyone: “We will laugh again. We will listen to music again and we will heal.”

Paul isn’t the only actor to leave Hollywood to live abroad. Richard Gere shared that he and his family moved to Spain, the hometown of his wife Alejandra Silva, last year.
“Now it’s time for my wife to be around her family, her friends and her culture,” Gere told Fox News Digital in November 2024. “And [it’s] good for our children. “I think it’s great to not only visit but to live in another culture.”

Gere further explained his decision to move to Spain in an interview. Vanity Fair Spain He said in April 2024 that it would be “a great adventure” because he had “never lived full time outside of the United States.”

He added that it would be good for his wife to be around friends and family, noting: “He’s been very generous in giving me six years to live in my world, so I think it’s only fair that I give him at least another six years to live in his world.”

“I’m with my family… I miss them so much,” Silva told the Daily Mail in April. “But I miss the USA, so we come back and forth.”
