Sarah Henderson puts Senate Estimates on notice over Israel’s Eurovision score
The pro-Israel lobby has proven it can nail activists to the wall, and now they’ll do it to your cultural sacred cows, too, writes Tom Tanuki.

Meanwhile, it is 2026 and we have allowed the Australian Government and its accompanying pro-Israel lobbyists to ban slogans, banners, symbols, flags, activist tactics, emerging political parties and more.
What won’t they ban to silence you? Nothing. All kinds of legislation can be drafted to nail activists to the wall.
That’s the problem with laughing at the Senate’s Eurovision Predictions inquiries. We can laugh at the stupidity of this now, but tomorrow someone in charge of SBS could lose their job. SBS’s funding may be cut. Eurovision may be declared a terrorist organization. Everything is fine!
I wish someone had told Senator Henderson that the SBS jury did not decide the public vote. the people did itby online and phone votes.
In fact, Australia currently has the most negative attitude towards Israel among Western countries. this month Pew survey data Now 79 percent of the public thinks negatively about this issue.
Australia has overwhelmingly negative attitudes towards the nation-state of Israel. Not SBS. Australia.
It is not just Israel’s genocide that has brought us to this stage, and certainly not the pro-Palestinian movement. on your own. I think the vast majority of the Australian population would prefer to pretend all this didn’t happen.
I recall this regarding Australia’s sizeable centre-Left political establishment and Labor base: Doctor Catherine Liu‘s feelings About American liberals:

Most importantly, they don’t want anything to change. The current situation is good for them. Protests demanding any kind of change are unseemly.
However, the resulting Australian Government crackdown on anti-Zionist activism, if not the activism itself, led many to reluctantly join the journey. After watching two years of bans affect nothing but genuine antisemitism and a shot in the arm of the organized Far Right, they see how all the crackdowns don’t really help anyone.
If Sarah Henderson truly valued popular politics – not even necessarily populism, but simply a politics that involves appealing to any real person, anywhere – she really wouldn’t be bringing up Israel’s Eurovision votes in the Senate.
But Sarah Henderson shows who her performance is for here. He is dying on the same hill that the pro-Israel lobby put him on. It shows in a nutshell why the Liberal Party is losing voters to One Nation.
(One Nation also supports Israel, just as they favor self-interest over having principles. But at least they childishly care for their angry base with false promises more ostentatious than the Liberals. “Ending mass migration“ A more exciting lie than the interrogations about the Eurovision votes.)
Content with their capacity to destroy the local pro-Palestinian movement, these gremlins continue to destroy any subcultural fads they discover that do not suit their tastes.
Like in Eurovision. Or a singer from an Australian cult band THESM.
Between the two, one wonders whether the pro-Israel lobby is on a mission to crush all millennial nostalgia in Australia.

Was it related to old rumors that Hitler was secretly Jewish? Or was this more of the disgusting shock material that is TISM’s bread and butter – the kind of tacky and ridiculous stuff that drives us to flock to them in an age when frontier lordship means so much more to once-young millennials?
I don’t know. Who cares? TISM is legendary.

But for Abramovich, as for the pro-Israel lobby, “Hitler” and “Nazis” are the target of campaigns, media spotlights and careers. So if you’ve ever used the word “Hitler” for anything and you’re still breathing, expect to be banned one day.
Time, history, nuance, subculture, knowledge and background are irrelevant. All of this is subject to a conceptual, politicized narrative about the trauma experienced by Jews due to random lyrics and/or poor performance in the Eurovision polls in 1988.
The lobby has proven it can nail activists to the wall, and now they’re going to do it to your cultural sacred cows, too.
In the process, they cause Israel to be almost universally despised. But if we all end up in prison, maybe it won’t matter how we feel about anything.
