Husband of US woman who vanished in Bahamas slips into ocean and injured while being transported by police

The husband of a Michigan woman who disappeared on a boat in the Bahamas slipped off the boat during a police transport, her lawyer said.
Attorney Terrel Butler said 59-year-old Brian Hooker fell off the boat on Wednesday and suffered knee pain and scrapes.
Butler added that Brian was handcuffed during transport and the harsh conditions prevented him from holding on for safety.
The 59-year-old patient is being taken to Rand Hospital for further treatment and evaluation. Fox News reported.
Brian was arrested by police in the Bahamas on Wednesday after his wife, Lynette, disappeared while sailing on a boat near the archipelago.
Five days after returning from a sailing trip without his wife, he was detained in the Abaco islands, claiming that his wife had fallen overboard.
Brian Hooker, 59, fell overboard on Wednesday and suffered knee pain and scrapes.
During transport, Hooker was handcuffed and the harsh conditions prevented him from holding on for his safety.
Authorities first interviewed Brian and released him, then brought him back as a witness for further questioning.
According to his lawyer’s statement, he was brought in for questioning for the third time as a suspect.
Royal Bahamas police said Brian was questioned on ‘probable cause’ and detained as a suspect in connection with his wife’s disappearance, but he was not formally charged.
The couple are experienced sailors who have been sailing together for more than a decade and often document their lives at sea on social media, authorities said.
They took a seven-foot motorboat out of Hope Town in the Bahamas on Saturday evening, but only Brian returned.
He told authorities that while returning to their yacht ‘Soulmate’, his wife fell overboard with the boat keys, causing the engine to shut down and forcing him to row towards shore.
This is breaking news…
