Josie Gibson reveals what she eats in a day after ‘1970s diet’ aided her incredible five stone weight loss

Josie Gibson has revealed the secret behind her incredible five-stone weight loss and what she eats to maintain her stunning figure.
The 40-year-old presenter has been open about her weight fluctuation, going from a size 20 to a size eight in 2014.
But after years of yo-yo dieting and insisting she would never touch weight-loss injections, Josie finally found what worked for her.
The mother-of-one told the Daily Mail she swears by the ‘1970s diet’, which includes intermittent fasting three days a week, a simple gym routine and smaller portions of foods such as boiled potatoes, liver, spam, pork, beans and Angel Delight.
The diet also includes simpler, less processed foods, less sugar, and an emphasis on home-cooked meals rather than ‘convenience’ such as takeaways and frozen ready meals.
However, the modest television personality said that most of his weight loss was due to ‘stress’ and ‘good angles’, adding: ‘I’m not as skinny as you think.’

Josie explained that she used to find the gym ‘very scary’ but now her exercise routine consists of three simple things; a 0.5km run on the treadmill, 15 squats and 25 sit-ups with a 22kg weight, all repeated three times.
The This Morning star, who is currently in Thailand after celebrating the new year there, says she “loves brunch” but is healthier.
But for Josie, healthy eating doesn’t always mean restricting yourself, adding: ‘I found my own way in Thailand. ‘The food is amazing!’
The star revealed in her book The Josie Gibson Diet that she lost more than 31kg in six months by completely cutting out refined sugar and eating only what’s found naturally in fruit.
She also participates in intermittent fasting, in which she eats nothing for eight hours a day, three times a week.
After a busy year, Josie also attributed her weight loss to the stress of work, motherhood and rearranging her new home.

In 2014, Josie shared that she lost six stone in a year, going from a size 20 to a size eight (pictured)
The mother-of-one received an original meal plan from a nutritionist and had to start with smaller portions and enjoy foods such as boiled potatoes, liver and spam.
‘If I undertake this experiment, then I show it all, that is the experiment. If you don’t show the experiment, what’s the point?
‘It was nice to know that I was at a superior level of fitness despite being overweight. Even though I exercise all the time, I expected my fitness level to be low. But Josie said, “No, you’re in superior fitness.” Mirror.
In the two-part show, Josie also explores 1970s fashion and exercise.
She added: ‘I think 1970s fashion was my favorite era. It’s so amazing. When I got down there, I took my size and went to the changing rooms and was absolutely miserable. ‘I didn’t know how to size a vanity.’
Speaking about the exciting new programme, Josie said: ‘Following the full 1970s diet was no easy feat; This was a completely unique experience!
There were some pretty weird food trends in the ’70s, but what surprised me the most was how different we approached eating, exercising, and even shopping back then. It was a fascinating journey; ‘The audience will love it.’
Earlier this year Josie revealed she had shed five stone without the help of fat grafting or surgery.

In an Instagram post, she said: ‘I did not have a gastric bypass; ‘I got rid of my big ass, moved more, ate less and educated myself about what I was putting into my body.’
The former Big Brother winner revealed that she follows the MuscleFood company’s Do The Unthinkable plan, which provides meals that cut out refined sugars, exercise plans and support to help people achieve their health goals.
Josie stated that she worked six days and had one day off and said: ‘Now on that day off, I had a cheat meal.
‘I didn’t go crazy and drink 10 bottles of wine and binge eat all day with food, chocolate and naughty things I didn’t have.
‘I just did one trick and that’s it. So if you have a day off, don’t undo all your hard work. Just have a cheat meal and enjoy. ‘Don’t drink excessively.’
