In the early hours of the day, Trump said that after a decision to double the tariffs of Indian imports, there would be no trade negotiations with India until a dispute was resolved.
When he was published by the moment in the Oval Office, he expects the talks to continue in the new 50% tariff light.
“No, not until it was solved,” he replied.
On Wednesday, the White House ordered an executive order that applied 25 percent more points for Indian goods and increased the total tax to 50%. The administration showed the national security and foreign policy concerns, especially India’s ongoing Russian oil imports.
Emir claims that these imports offer a “unusual and extraordinary threat to the US directly or through intermediaries and justify urgent economic measures.
According to US officials, the first 25% tariff entered into force on 7 August. Additional tax will enter into force within 21 days and will be applied to all Indian goods entering the US ports except for exceptions for transit and some exempt categories.
The order also provides flexibility for the President to change measures depending on the change of geopolitical conditions or the retaliation actions of India or other nations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to a challenge during a speech at the Mrs. Swaminathan Centenary International Conference in the New Delhi, and showed that the new Delhi would not return against economic pressure.
