Power cuts LIVE: Bristol, Birmingham and Leicester face heatwave chaos | Weather | News

The UK is facing power outages as scorching high temperatures set in and extreme heat alerts are issued.
Electricity to households in Bristol, Birmingham and Leicester has already been affected by severe weather.
National Grid has issued a hot weather alert, claiming that “crews are ready around the clock and if your power goes out, we will work to restore power as safely and quickly as we can during the sweltering weather.”
In addition to the heat, storms also caused chaos in Bristol, and houses were set on fire as a result of lightning strikes.
The Met Office issued a power cut warning to 71 areas across England on Tuesday, with more areas expected to be affected in the coming days.
